The CSP’s website gives access to a complete downloadable graphic report on conflict trends in Africa—armed conflict, governance, forcibly displaced populations, political instability, state exclusivity, political discrimination, and inter-communal conflict— between 1946 and 2004. It also provides 10 data annexes that supports the section of the report focused on political instability in Africa.

The Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy (IMTD) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1992 by Ambassador John W. McDonald and Dr. Louise Diamond. The mission of IMTD is to promote a systems-based approach to peacebuilding and to facilitate the transformation of deep-rooted social conflict through education, conflict resolution training and communication.
3   Link   International Network on Displacement & Resettlement
This site is dedicated to providing information on persons internally displaced due to conflict. The network is made up of professionals, researchers and practitioners around the world working in various capacities to develop programs and initiatives to help displaced persons. The site also features current news on displaced persons, a searchable database and publications on the same topic.

USIP provides the analysis, training and tools that prevent and end conflicts, promotes stability and professionalizes the field of peacebuilding.

A nongovernmental, nonpartisan organization committed to strengthen civil, political, social, economic, and cultural human rights around the world. The Center’s website offers information on their several and diverse projects and activities such as observing elections, strengthening democracy, preventing diseases, being channels for dialogue and negotiation, supporting peace defenders and other public or private organizations seeking to alleviate human suffering.

A knowledge based project that embodies concepts, approaches, case studies, checklists, and more information related to field of conflict resolution and peace building. The website gives access to an online encyclopedia, training programs, and special editions focusing on the needs of people in specific conflict situations.
7   Link   Association for Conflict Resolution
The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) is a professional organization dedicated to enhancing the practice and public understanding of conflict resolution.  Based in the United States, ACR represents and serves a diverse national and international audience that includes more than 6,000 mediators, arbitrators, facilitators, educators, and others involved in the field of conflict resolution and collaborative decision-making.

The PJSA is a non-profit organization created with the intention of sharing and exploring ideas on peace building, social justice, and social change. Through research, education, and action, PJSA seeks to create a just and peaceful world. PJSA’s website offers information on their partnerships, projects, news, and statements.
9   Link   Resource Based Conflicts (RBC) Management Network
The Resource Based Conflicts (RBC) Management Network is a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) that seeks to support peace building and conflict prevention (PB&CP) efforts in the Horn and East Africa region (HEA) by partnering with like-minded entities and seeking innovative strategies for equipping CSOs with the right skills and tools to be able to make a difference in the conflict prone areas of the region.

The ACR International Section is a professional association that gathers conflict resolution practitioners. In order to enhance the practice of alternative dispute resolution, it offers education and training in the field, organizes committees and conferences, and promotes networking among member with similar interests through thematically focused sections.

HRW is an independent organization committed to defend and protect human rights. HRW raises consciousness and presses governments and society for a deep-rooted change. Website gives access to publications, reports, multimedia, and news on human rights abuse.
12   Link   World Bank's Conflict UNIT
This site disseminates information on the activities of a World Bank division called Conflict, Crime and Violence (CCV), which forms part of the World Bank’s Social Development Department. It features invaluable datasets on conflict, crime and violence. It has datasets on conflict violence from 1991-2008; homicide from 1995-2008; domestic violence from 1982-2007. Through its Social Development Department, the World Bank is addressing conflict,
crime and violence as major obstacles to development. The Conflict, Crime and
Violence cluster (CCV) has been created to give support to country teams, and to
foster research on conflict issues related to the Banks’ clients, as well as to identify how
Bank operations affect conflict dynamics. The website offers information on research,
databases, reports, and Banks’ current projects that can be browsed by country, topic,
document type or language.

IISS is a trusted international institution providing well researched information on global security. Some of the information found on this site includes a database on armed conflict, including proceedings from conferences from around the world and a book series on international security issues.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR): since its founding in 1922, Foreign Affairs has been the leading forum for serious discussion of American foreign policy and international affairs. It is published by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a non-profit and nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to improving the understanding of U.S. foreign policy and international affairs through the free exchange of ideas.

PDES: the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Policy Development and Evaluation Service (PDES) is committed to the systematic analysis and assessment of UNHCR projects, programs, practices and policies. PDES also promotes research on refugee, humanitarian and migration issues and encourages an active exchange of ideas and information between humanitarian practitioners, policymakers and the academic community.

Freedom House is an independent watchdog organization that supports the expansion of freedom around the world. Freedom House supports democratic change, monitors freedom, and advocates for democracy and human rights. FH’s Countries at the Crossroads is an annual analysis of government performance in 70 strategically important countries worldwide (including countries in Africa) that are at a critical crossroads in determining their political future.

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international and ecumenical centre that supports and promotes nonviolent approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing the preconditions for building peace.
18   Link   Conflict Early Warning Systems (CEWS)
Conflict Early Warning Systems (CEWS): The CEWS project was administered through the Center for International Studies and the Department of International Relations at the University of Southern California, from 1995 through 1999. The project involved an interdisciplinary team of social scientists, peace researchers and conflict prevention specialists from different regions of the world focused on successes and failures in preventing violent inter-group conflicts. The Conflict Database includes 20 cases of recently resolved and unresolved inter-group conflicts, including cases in Africa.

EED: Church Development Service (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst - EED) is an association of the Protestant Churches in Germany. EED focuses its efforts in Africa on establishing and strengthening civil society institutions, especially those involved in the provision of and lobbying for basic social services, and promoting democracy and human rights. The website has news, info, and publications on EED’s work in Africa.
20   Link   International Center for Transitional Justice
The International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) is an international non-profit organization specializing in the field of transitional justice. ICTJ works to help societies in transition address legacies of massive human rights violations and build civic trust in state institutions as protectors of human rights. Not entirely Africa focused, but does work in the DRC, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan and Uganda.
