The West African Research Association (WARA) was founded in 1989 to enhance collaborative research and scholarly exchange between U.S. and West African scholars, educators, and institutions and to increase knowledge about and interest in Africa in the U.S.
2   Link   West Africa Library
The West Africa Library is part of the Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources. SULAIR develops and implements resources and services within the University libraries and academic technology units that support research and instruction. The West Africa Library contains information on each country in West Africa as well as general resources.
3   Link   Quaker Peace Network West Africa
Quaker Peace Network West Africa (QPNWA) is an offshoot of QPN Africa. The Africa Network was born out of a worldwide Quaker and American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) initiative for consultation around the question of the prevention of violent conflicts. The main aim of QPNWA is to prevent conflicts, thereby preventing the need for peace building.
4   Link   WANEP West Africa Network for Peacebuilding
The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) is a not-for-profit organisation working in collaborative peacebuilding. WANEP was founded in 1998 as a response to the civil wars that plagued West Africa in the late 1980s. WANEP has National Networks in twelve of the fifteen countries in West Africa and will soon expand to Cape Verde, Mali and Niger. Its Regional Secretariat is located in Accra, Ghana. Currently, WANEP network membership is over 450 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) spread across its 12 national networks throughout West Africa.
